# Assigning Shared Resources to Users

> Learn how to assign shared Objects, Geofences, Sites, and Routes from another Organization to users in your Organization.

## Introduction

After your Organization accepts a share from another Organization, the shared resources become available at the Organization level.

However, shared resources are **not automatically available to every user**.

You need to choose which users can access those resources through **Settings → Users**.

## Assigning Shared Resources

Open **Settings → Users**, then find the user you want to give access to.

Open the menu on the right side of the user and select **Assign**.

You can choose:

* **Assign Objects**
* **Assign Geofences**
* **Assign Sites**
* **Assign Routes**

### 1. Choose the Resource Type

Select the resource type you want to assign.

For example, choose **Assign Objects** to manage which Objects the user can access.

### 2. Select the Shared Resources

Resources received from another Organization are grouped by their source, for example:

**Shared by Jiloka**

Select the shared resources you want to assign to the user.

This grouping helps distinguish resources owned by your Organization from resources received through Organization Sharing.

### 3. Save the Assignment

Once the selection is correct, click **Assign**.

The user can now access the shared resources assigned to them.

The same process applies to Objects, Geofences, Sites, and Routes.

## Viewing and Updating Existing Assignments

You can also review resources already assigned to a user directly from the **Users** table.

Click the resource count in one of these columns:

* Object Assigned
* Geofence Assigned
* Site Assigned
* Route Assigned

Jitra displays the resources currently assigned to the user.

Click **Change** if you want to update the assignment.

## Identifying Shared Resources

Shared resources are grouped by the Organization that shared them, such as **Shared by Jiloka**.

These resources remain owned by the Organization that shared them and are **read-only** for your Organization.

## Access to Shared Objects

A shared Object assigned to a user can be accessed in:

* Live Tracking
* History

Users can only access shared Objects that have been specifically assigned to them.

## If a Shared Resource Is No Longer Shared

If the owning Organization removes a resource from the share, that resource is no longer available to your Organization.

Users who previously had the resource assigned also lose access to it. The same applies if the Organization Sharing connection is revoked.
