To connect a physical GPS Device, configure its APN, Jitra server address, protocol port, and transport mode. Then create an Object in Jitra with the same Device ID or IMEI.

Before You Begin

Make sure the device has power, an active SIM card with mobile data, the correct APN, and a clear view of the sky for its first GPS fix. Keep its IMEI or Device ID available. Also confirm that the SIM PIN is disabled and that the device supports the mobile network available in its installation area. Many older trackers only support 2G. Use these values as a balanced starting point. A model-specific guide may override a setting when its protocol requires it.
A 10–15 second moving interval gives more detail but uses more data and power. Battery-powered trackers may require longer intervals and sleep settings. Avoid aggressive sleep modes when you need immediate status updates or remote commands.

Supported Protocols

Select the guide that matches the device protocol, not only the brand printed on its casing. Some rebranded devices use a different protocol.

Connection Flow

1

Prepare the SIM card

Activate mobile data and configure the carrier APN, username, and password when required.
2

Configure the Jitra endpoint

Enter gw.jitra.app, the port for your device family, TCP, and UTC / GMT+0 in the device configurator or by SMS command.
3

Create the Object

In Jitra, open Settings > Objects > New, choose the exact model, and enter the Device ID or IMEI.
4

Verify incoming data

Restart the device, allow it to obtain a GPS fix, and confirm its location and last update time on Tracking.
Commands, passwords, menu names, and supported fields can differ by model and firmware. Use the exact device manual and read the current configuration before changing it. Change the factory SMS password after setup when the device supports it.
